Support Worker – Young Adults (Manchester)

About the role
You will work in a supported accommodation service for young adults and care leavers aged 18‑25, helping them develop the skills and confidence needed to sustain independent tenancies. The role involves managing a caseload, delivering person‑centred support, and collaborating with a range of external partners.
Key responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of young people and care leavers.
- Develop, review and implement person‑centred support plans.
- Teach independent living skills such as budgeting, cooking, tenancy management and accessing community services.
- Support engagement with education, training and employment opportunities.
- Provide practical and emotional assistance to help customers achieve their goals.
- Complete risk assessments, support plans and detailed case notes.
- Work closely with social workers, local authority teams, health professionals and partner agencies.
- Promote safeguarding, wellbeing and positive outcomes for all customers.
- Assist customers in maintaining successful tenancies and preparing for move‑on accommodation.
Required profile
- Experience supporting young people, care leavers, vulnerable adults or individuals with complex needs.
- Understanding of safeguarding principles and professional boundaries.
- Strong communication and relationship‑building abilities.
- Capability to manage challenging situations professionally.
- Good IT and record‑keeping skills.
- Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including weekends and bank holidays.
