TP141 Commissioning Engineer (High Voltage) – 2‑Year Contract

About the role

We are seeking an experienced TP141 Commissioning Engineer to join a specialist high‑voltage engineering contractor on two major National Grid transmission projects in East Anglia and Oxfordshire. The contract runs for approximately two years and involves the safe commissioning and energisation of high‑voltage substations.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out commissioning activities on HV transmission substations up to 400 kV.
• Complete primary plant, protection and control commissioning in line with National Grid TP141 procedures.
• Perform functional testing, interlocking checks and support energisation activities.
• Prepare commissioning documentation, test records and hand‑over packs.
• Collaborate with project managers, clients and site teams to deliver programmes safely and efficiently.
• Travel to project sites in East Anglia or Oxfordshire as required.

Required profile

• Current National Grid TP141 Commissioning Engineer authorisation.
• Proven experience commissioning HV substations within the transmission sector.
• Strong understanding of National Grid commissioning procedures and safety rules.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.
