About the role
The NHS England‑funded trainee position is part of the Mental Health Support Teams (MHST) transformation in South Hertfordshire. You will study at the University of East Anglia while delivering low‑intensity, evidence‑based CBT interventions to children and young people in educational settings.
Key responsibilities
- Attend 100% of university teaching days and complete all training components.
- Provide low‑intensity CBT and other evidence‑based interventions to children, young people and families under supervision.
- Carry out holistic, child‑centred mental health assessments, including risk assessments.
- Support schools and colleges in Watford and surrounding areas with mental health and wellbeing needs.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of qualified EMHPs, wellbeing practitioners, and senior staff.
Required profile
- Full, valid UK driving licence with access to a car and business insurance (unless exempt under the Equality Act).
- Must not have undertaken another NHS England‑funded training position in the past two years.
- Available to start on Monday 4 January 2027.
- Will not require sponsorship.
What we offer
- NHS England‑funded training post with university tuition at UEA (travel to Norwich required).
- Progression from Band 4 to Band 5 on successful completion of the programme.
- Salary £29,812 – £32,715 per annum inclusive of 5% HCAS.
