Transactional Finance Manager

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Transactional Finance Manager to join our well‑established SME in Liss. In this hands‑on position you will own the day‑to‑day finance function, ensuring accurate transactional accounting and supporting the production of monthly management information.

Key responsibilities

• Manage purchase and sales ledger, processing supplier invoices, matching, batching and coding.
• Raise sales invoices and monitor debtor balances.
• Perform daily bank reconciliations and maintain cash records.
• Prepare weekly payment runs and reconcile supplier, customer and inter‑company accounts.
• Handle petty cash, company credit‑card reconciliations and employee expense processing.
• Support month‑end procedures including accruals, pre‑payments, balance‑sheet reconciliations and fixed‑asset register maintenance.
• Prepare VAT returns and associated reconciliations.
• Process monthly payroll for approximately 30 employees.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Bookkeeper, Finance Supervisor, Accounts Manager or Transactional Finance Manager.
• Strong knowledge of purchase ledger, sales ledger, bank reconciliations and payment processing.
• Experience preparing VAT returns and supporting month‑end activities.
• Payroll experience is advantageous.
• Excellent attention to detail, organisational ability and the capacity to work independently.

Required skills

• Proficient use of Microsoft Excel.
• Confidence using accounting software.
