About the role
The Transport Planner will be responsible for planning daily transport routes, allocating vehicles, forecasting transport requirements and optimising vehicle utilisation for the Manchester operation. This on‑site role supports the middle‑mile transportation team in delivering cost‑effective, compliant and customer‑focused services.
Key responsibilities
- Plan daily transport routes based on order volume, delivery requirements, cut‑off times, vehicle and driver availability.
- Allocate vehicles and create dispatch plans to ensure sufficient capacity for daily operations.
- Use volume forecasts, historical data and operational trends to estimate vehicle demand and support capacity planning.
- Optimise routes to improve vehicle utilisation, reduce empty mileage and control transport costs.
