Welfare Officer

About the role

The Welfare Officer will join Raven Housing Trust’s community investment team to support vulnerable residents, help sustain tenancies and improve wellbeing. Working across Redhill, Croydon, Brighton and Sutton, you will combine office, community and home‑based work in a hybrid model.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of customers requiring welfare, tenancy sustainment and safeguarding support.
• Conduct risk assessments, welfare visits and safeguarding interventions as needed.
• Develop practical support plans and coordinate services to achieve positive outcomes.
• Provide hands‑on assistance to customers facing domestic abuse, health, disability, substance misuse or social isolation.
• Collaborate with external agencies such as social services, healthcare providers and local authorities.
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to effective case management.

Required profile

• Experience working with vulnerable people and delivering positive outcomes.
• Understanding of safeguarding responsibilities and tenancy sustainment principles.
• Confidence managing complex situations and advocating for residents.
• Experience working with partner agencies (social services, healthcare, local authorities).
• Strong communication, organisational and record‑keeping abilities.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the region.
