About the role
We are seeking a Workforce Manager to lead research and insight on workforce, skills and education challenges across key sectors. Based in London with a hybrid working model, you will shape evidence‑based policy and drive thought leadership for a leading professional membership organisation.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and oversee research on workforce, skills and higher‑education challenges affecting the sector.
- Translate complex data and stakeholder intelligence into compelling policy recommendations and practical solutions.
- Build and maintain relationships with employers, education providers, professional bodies, policymakers and other strategic stakeholders.
- Support policy and advocacy activities by producing evidence‑based positions for government and external audiences.
- Create reports, briefings, presentations and communication assets that showcase organisational thought leadership.
- Manage projects, budgets and a direct report, ensuring delivery against objectives and organisational priorities.
Required profile
- Strong experience in policy, public affairs, research, workforce development, education or related fields.
- Proven track record of producing high‑quality evidence‑based research, reports and policy outputs that influence decision‑makers.
- Excellent analytical ability to interpret quantitative and qualitative data and formulate clear recommendations.
- Deep understanding of the UK education, skills, workforce or STEM landscape.
- Demonstrated experience building and managing senior stakeholder relationships across government, industry and education.
- Experience managing multiple projects and priorities to deadline.
