Android Engineer

About the role

Freetrade is looking for an Android Engineer to join its mobile team and help shape the future of investing. You will work on a high‑traffic app that gives customers access to UK, US and EU financial markets, while collaborating with product, design and QA teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and ship new Android features using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
• Maintain and improve the existing codebase to ensure high performance and reliability.
• Collaborate with iOS, backend and design teams to deliver a cohesive user experience.
• Participate in code reviews, testing and debugging to uphold code quality.
• Help prioritize technical debt, platform issues and architectural decisions.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of the Android mobile platform and its ecosystem.
• Ability to solve complex problems independently and within a team.
• Passion for learning new technologies and improving development practices.
• Experience working in a collaborative, fast‑moving product environment.
