Area Manager – Security (UK & Ireland)

About the role

American Airlines is seeking an Area Manager, Security for the United Kingdom and Ireland. You will lead station‑level security operations, work closely with airport authorities and regulators, and ensure compliance with both U.S. and local security requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain collaborative relationships with station leaders, local teams, and third‑party security partners.
• Provide day‑to‑day operational security guidance and act as the first point of contact for security incidents.
• Represent American Airlines’ security interests with UK regulators (CAA, DfT) and U.S. agencies (TSA, CBP, U.S. Embassy).
• Maintain compliance with the Aircraft Operator Security Programme and related documentation.
• Lead response to security events, coordinate investigations, and manage post‑incident actions.
• Conduct risk assessments, audits, and develop mitigation plans for crew hotels, transportation providers, and airport security programmes.

Required profile

• Proven experience in aviation or corporate security management.
• Strong knowledge of UK and U.S. security regulations.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to lead investigations and produce clear reports.

Required skills

• Understanding of TSA and host‑state regulatory requirements.
• Experience with security risk assessment methodologies.
• Familiarity with airport authority procedures and aviation law enforcement.
