Breakfast Club Assistant

About the role

Ivy Lane Primary School is looking for a dedicated Breakfast Club Assistant to support children before the school day begins. Working four mornings a week during term time, you will help create a safe, welcoming environment that encourages early learning, play and social interaction.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and engage children from 7:30 am to 8:30 am, Monday‑Thursday.
• Prepare and serve breakfast items while adhering to health and safety standards.
• Support children’s personal, social and emotional needs through play and conversation.
• Assist with the daily set‑up and clean‑up of the breakfast club area.
• Maintain accurate attendance records and report any concerns to senior staff.

Required profile

• Enthusiastic, reliable and able to work flexibly within the part‑time schedule.
• Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
• Willingness to obtain a Level 2 Food Hygiene certificate if not already held.

Required skills

• Basic food preparation and hygiene knowledge.
• Ability to communicate clearly with young children.

What we offer

• Permanent part‑time contract (4 hours per week, 38 weeks per year).
• Salary pro‑rated between £2,191 and £2,355 per annum.
