Intermediate PHP/WordPress Web Developer

About the role

Global Relay is seeking an Intermediate PHP/WordPress Web Developer to maintain and enhance its corporate website and information service platforms. You will work closely with marketing and design teams to turn product requirements into functional, accessible, and visually appealing web applications. The role offers the chance to collaborate with top developers in London while expanding your skill set across multiple technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Implement new website features and enhancements based on product and marketing requirements.
• Optimize site performance, ensuring fast load times and SEO‑friendly architecture across regions.
• Maintain and extend WordPress sites, including custom Gutenberg blocks and theme development.
• Integrate third‑party APIs and services, handling JSON, AJAX, and related data exchanges.
• Collaborate in an Agile environment, participating in sprint planning, code reviews, and testing.
• Manage source code using Git and follow coding standards such as SOLID principles.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of professional PHP experience with solid understanding of design patterns and inheritance.
• Proficiency in WordPress and content management systems.
• At least 2 years of JavaScript development (vanilla or frameworks such as React, Angular, Vue, jQuery).
• 3 years of experience with HTML5 and CSS3, including Sass or Less.
• Experience with Git version control and Agile development methodologies.
• Familiarity with API integration, testing environments, and optional knowledge of Gutenberg blocks, Node pre‑processors, and SOLID coding standards.
