Bank Endoscopy Theatre Practitioner

About the role

We are seeking a Bank Endoscopy Theatre Practitioner to join the Endoscopy team at The Harborne Hospital, a purpose‑built 50‑bed private facility on the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham campus. This flexible, ad‑hoc position is ideal for experienced practitioners who can work autonomously and support high‑quality endoscopy lists.

Key responsibilities

• Support the delivery of safe, high‑quality diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy procedures within a theatre environment.
• Assist clinicians throughout procedures, ensuring patient comfort and dignity.
• Prepare, check and maintain endoscopy equipment in line with infection prevention and decontamination standards.
• Monitor patients throughout their endoscopy journey and maintain accurate clinical documentation.
• Collaborate closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure smooth patient flow.

Required profile

• Current professional registration with the NMC or HCPC.
• Proven experience in endoscopy or theatre practice within NHS or private healthcare.
• Senior‑level experience or the confidence to work autonomously in an endoscopy setting.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work flexibly within a multidisciplinary team.
