Customer Service Assistant – Retail

About the role

We are seeking a friendly and reliable Customer Service Assistant to join our One Stop store. You will work in a fast‑paced retail environment, helping customers, handling transactions and keeping the shop tidy.

Key responsibilities

• Provide excellent, courteous service to every customer.
• Operate tills and self‑service checkouts, process payments and follow age‑restriction policies.
• Stock shelves, replenish inventory and maintain a clean, organised store layout.
• Assist with online order pick‑ups, vending machines and post‑office duties where applicable.
• Support shift leaders by covering the shift in their absence and ensuring safety procedures are followed.

Required profile

• Passionate about serving customers with pride.
• Willing to complete a Post Office financial and criminal background check if the store has a Post Office.
• Ability to work safely, follow security procedures and wear required safety equipment.
• Flexible to work varied hours and step in for shift leaders when needed.

Required skills

• POS/till operation and cash handling.
• Basic computer use for online order processing.
• Stock replenishment and inventory management.
• Ability to follow age‑restriction (Think 25) policy.
