1st Line Network Support Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a 1st Line Network Support Engineer to join our growing managed services team. The role is the first point of contact for technical incidents and service requests, providing remote support and occasional on‑site visits.

Key responsibilities

• Log, prioritise and manage tickets using the ticketing system.
• Perform initial troubleshooting of networking issues, including routing, switching and connectivity problems.
• Keep customers informed of progress and status.
• Escalate complex issues to the appropriate support team.
• Occasionally travel to client sites as required.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a service desk, NOC or 1st line support role.
• Good understanding of networking concepts such as routing, switching and connectivity.
• Experience working with ticketing systems and adhering to SLAs.
• Strong troubleshooting and customer communication skills.
• Full UK driving licence.

Required skills

• Networking fundamentals (routing, switching, connectivity).
• Ticketing systems and SLA management.
• CCNA, JNCIA or CompTIA Network+ qualification (or working towards).
• Exposure to Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet or Palo Alto technologies.
