Accounting Manager – Birmingham (Hybrid)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join a well‑established public practice in Birmingham. This hybrid position offers a competitive salary up to £65,000 and the chance to lead a portfolio of clients while developing a high‑performing team.

Key responsibilities

• Review company financial statements, sole‑trade accounts and corporation tax returns.
• Provide tax advice with support from senior managers and directors.
• Manage a portfolio of clients, acting as the first point of contact and liaising on deadlines.
• Assist senior managers with accounts, tax, VAT, payroll and company secretarial deadlines.
• Develop internal systems and controls, including implementation of accounting software.
• Support the development of senior associates and supervisors.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years post‑qualification experience in practice.
• ACA, ACCA or equivalent professional qualification.
• Proven experience managing your own client portfolio.
• Commitment to maintaining high technical knowledge.
• Strong analytical, research and communication skills.
