Acoustic Consultant – Environmental Noise & Building Acoustics

About the role

We are seeking an Acoustic Consultant to join a leading environmental consultancy in Birmingham. The role involves delivering acoustic solutions across environmental noise, building acoustics and sustainability projects, working closely with the air quality team. Hybrid working and part‑time options provide flexibility.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out noise and vibration monitoring across the Midlands.
• Perform acoustic modelling and impact assessments using specialised software.
• Prepare environmental statement chapters, technical reports and documentation.
• Support client meetings and stakeholder engagement.
• Collaborate with engineers, planners and project managers on multidisciplinary projects.

Required profile

• Degree in Acoustics, Physics or a related discipline.
• Knowledge of environmental noise regulations and building acoustics.
• Full UK driving licence.

Required skills

• Proficiency with acoustic modelling software such as CadnaA or SoundPLAN.
• Experience in noise and vibration monitoring.
