AI Research Fellowship – Economics & Policy

About the role

The Anthropic Institute is offering a four‑month, full‑time AI research fellowship focused on economics and policy. Fellows will work on an empirical project that aligns with Anthropic’s research priorities and aims to produce a public research output such as a paper submission.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute an empirical AI research project using open‑source models and public APIs.
• Collaborate closely with Anthropic researchers for mentorship and feedback.
• Produce a public deliverable, typically a conference or journal paper.
• Engage with the broader AI safety and security research community.
• Utilise compute resources funded by the program and manage research expenses.

Required profile

• Strong interest in AI research, especially at the intersection of economics, policy, and safety.
• Self‑motivated and capable of independent research within a four‑month timeframe.
• Commitment to diverse and inclusive perspectives in AI development.

Required skills

• Experience with open‑source AI models.
• Experience using public APIs for AI research.
