Airfreight Coordinator

About the role

We are seeking an organised and proactive Airfreight Coordinator to join Freightserve’s busy air‑freight division in Windsor. The role involves managing end‑to‑end export and import air cargo movements, ensuring compliance with customs and aviation regulations, and keeping clients informed throughout the process.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate import and export air freight shipments from origin to final UK delivery, securing cargo space and negotiating rates with airlines and cargo carriers.
• Provide clear, timely updates to clients, airline representatives, overseas agents and hauliers, managing expectations around routing, costs and potential delays.
• Prepare and review transport documentation such as House and Master Air Waybills, commercial invoices, packing lists, Certificates of Origin and Carnets.
• Work with an external customs broker to ensure smooth customs clearance and compliance with HMRC regulations.
• Maintain relationships with airlines, ground handling agents and UK road transport partners for efficient airport transfers and last‑mile delivery.
• Audit airline and supplier invoices against agreed tariffs and ensure adherence to CAA security requirements and BIFA trading conditions.

Required profile

• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Experience in air freight forwarding within a UK logistics or freight‑forwarding environment.
• Ability to stay calm and professional when handling urgent operational issues or client escalations.
• Willingness to hold or obtain a Dangerous Goods (DG) certificate.

Required skills

• Knowledge of CDS and HMRC customs procedures.
• Familiarity with BIFA terms and IATA guidelines.
• Dangerous Goods handling certification (or willingness to train).
