Anti-Social Behaviour Case Officer – Manchester

About the role

Manchester City Council is recruiting two Anti‑Social Behaviour Case Officers on a fixed‑term basis. Working from the Town Hall Extension in Manchester city centre, you will engage directly with the community to address anti‑social behaviour and support safer neighbourhoods.

Key responsibilities

• Engage with individuals, residents and businesses on the street to resolve ASB concerns.
• Apply a trauma‑informed approach to support those involved in anti‑social activities.
• Handle neighbour nuisance cases using informal and formal powers.
• Prepare and manage cases for potential court action, explaining decisions and enforcing outcomes.
• Collaborate with Greater Manchester Police and other partners in street‑based activities.
• Maintain accurate case data and meet statutory timescales.

Required profile

• Strong communication skills for interacting with victims, witnesses and perpetrators.
• Resilience and confidence in enforcing legislation and issuing warnings.
• Experience handling complex ASB cases or community safety initiatives.
• Commitment to high standards of customer service and stakeholder engagement.
• Valid full UK driving licence and an enhanced DBS on the update service.
