Apprentice Motor Vehicle Technician

About the role

We are seeking an Apprentice Motor Vehicle Technician to join Hedin Automotive’s busy BMW/MINI service workshop. You will receive hands‑on training on the latest BMW vehicles, engines and diagnostic equipment, working towards the Level 3 Motor Vehicle Service and Maintenance Technician apprenticeship.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out routine service inspections and basic repairs to BMW/MINI standards.
• Assist senior technicians with maintenance, service and repair tasks on new‑generation vehicles.
• Use BMW diagnostic tools and electronic systems to identify faults.
• Participate in weekly training blocks at the BMW Group Academy in Berkshire.
• Work under a dedicated mentor and receive performance reviews from a BMW representative every 12 weeks.

Required profile

• Good manual dexterity and a keen interest in automotive technology.
• Honest, trustworthy and eager to learn.
• Positive attitude, strong work ethic and professionalism.
• Ability to work both as part of a team and independently in a busy workshop.
• Eligibility to work in the UK and preferably a full UK driver’s licence.

Required skills

• Use of BMW diagnostic equipment.
• Basic automotive electronics knowledge.
• Fundamental vehicle maintenance techniques.
