Architect – Commercial & Residential Conversions

About the role

Criterion Capital is seeking an experienced Architect to lead design for commercial‑to‑residential conversion projects across Greater London. You will manage the full design process from feasibility through planning approval, ensuring projects meet programme, budget and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate architectural design through planning and statutory approvals.
• Manage internal and external design teams and consultants.
• Chair design team meetings and drive planning submissions.
• Oversee compliance with Planning, Building Regulations, CDM, BREEAM and sustainability requirements.
• Develop and manage Employer’s Requirements and Brand Standards.
• Identify and mitigate design risk; support value engineering and optimisation.
• Collaborate closely with development, construction and operations teams.
• Support technical queries, change control and design validation through delivery.

Required profile

• Degree‑qualified Architect (or equivalent) with proven experience delivering architectural design for hospitality, residential or commercial projects.
• Strong knowledge of planning, statutory compliance and the RIBA Plan of Work.
• Commercially aware with experience managing consultants.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills.
