Area Sales Manager – Lifting & Construction

About the role

We are a well‑established business in the compact and sustainable lifting industry, looking for a proactive, autonomous Area Sales Manager based in the Midlands or South of the UK. You will be responsible for driving growth across the UK market, working field‑based with occasional visits to our head office.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a sales strategy to acquire new business in construction, heavy plant and lifting sectors.
• Identify, map and engage target customers and industries, maintaining accurate data in the CRM system.
• Oversee the full sales cycle, from prospecting to hand‑over to key account managers, or manage the process end‑to‑end where appropriate.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity and sales performance to adjust tactics.
• Report regularly to the Operations Director on pipeline, forecasts and results.

Required profile

• Proven track record in sales, preferably within construction, heavy equipment or lifting services.
• Experience dealing with decision‑makers in sectors such as mining, quarrying, crane hire, or commercial vehicle sales.
• Self‑motivated, able to work independently and thrive in a new‑business focused environment.

Required skills

• Knowledge of heavy construction equipment, cranes, scissor lifts, hoists and commercial vehicles.
• Familiarity with mining, quarrying and related plant operations.
• Proficiency in using a CRM system to track leads and opportunities.

• Basic salary up to £55,000 per year.
• Uncapped bonus/commission potential (approximately £7,500 in year 1).
