Aspiring Educational Psychologist – Mental Health (Hemel Hempstead)

About the role
Are you graduating in 2026 and interested in a career in Educational Psychology, Clinical Psychology or Child Mental Health? This permanent role offers Psychology, Health & Social Care or related graduates valuable hands‑on experience in a specialist SEN setting before pursuing postgraduate study.
Key responsibilities
- Support students with Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia and SEMH challenges.
- Work alongside therapists, SEN specialists and mental health professionals to develop confidence and independence.
- Assist in behaviour management and therapeutic communication within a specialist SEN environment.
- Help learners re‑engage with education and develop personal wellbeing.
Required profile
- Graduating in 2026 with a degree in Psychology, Health & Social Care or a related field.
- Resilient, proactive and passionate about supporting young people with additional needs.
- Willing to gain hands‑on experience before postgraduate study.
What we offer
- Permanent position with a salary of £21,000–£23,000 per year.
- Full‑time schedule: Monday‑Friday, 8:30 am‑4:30 pm, starting September 2026.
- Specialist SEN setting supporting ~55 students, small class sizes (6‑8 learners).
- Access to occupational therapists, specialist teachers and external professionals.
