Assembly Operative

About the role

We are seeking a motivated and reliable Assembly Operative to join our client’s manufacturing team on a temporary, ad‑hoc basis. The role involves fabricating and assembling air handling units in a fast‑paced production environment, working Monday‑Friday.

Key responsibilities

• Fabricate and assemble air handling units and associated components using hand and power tools.
• Position and align components manually or with lifting equipment as required.
• Perform occasional welding of components.
• Carry out quality control inspections throughout the assembly process.
• Measure completed components to ensure they meet specifications.
• Complete production and quality documentation accurately.
• Maintain tools, equipment and work areas to a high standard.
• Perform routine equipment checks and report any faults or maintenance needs.
• Follow health and safety procedures and maintain a clean, safe working environment.
• Occasionally travel to customer sites within the UK and overseas to support installation or resolve service issues.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment.
• Experience working with sheet metal.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Good attention to detail and focus on quality.
• Physical fitness and ability to lift and move materials safely.
• Understanding of health and safety within a manufacturing setting.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Desirable: welding experience.
