Assistant Accountant – Manufacturing Finance

About the role

Are you looking to take the next step in your finance career and gain broader accounting experience within a successful manufacturing environment? We’re recruiting an Assistant Accountant to join an established finance team, offering a great opportunity for someone with a grounding in transactional finance who now wants to develop their month‑end and management accounting experience.

Key responsibilities

• Support day‑to‑day running of the purchase and sales ledgers.
• Process and reconcile cash and bank transactions, including bank and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Assist with supplier payments, invoice queries and month‑end reporting.
• Prepare and post journals, accruals and pre‑payments, and help prepare monthly financial information.

Required profile

• AAT qualified or studying towards AAT, or early stages of CIMA/ACCA.
• Experience in an Accounts Assistant, Finance Assistant or similar role, comfortable with AP, AR and bank reconciliations.
• Keen to develop month‑end accounting knowledge in a manufacturing environment.

Required skills

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience using a large ERP system such as SAP or Microsoft Dynamics 365.
