Assistant Garment Technologist – Premium Womenswear (Hybrid)

About the role

We are seeking a passionate Assistant Garment Technologist to support the product team of a premium womenswear brand. Working hybrid with one day remote per week, you will help ensure each collection meets the highest standards of fit, quality and performance.

Key responsibilities

• Assist Garment Technologists throughout product development, from initial samples to production.
• Prepare samples for fit sessions, record detailed notes and update fit comments.
• Measure garments against technical specifications and size charts.
• Maintain accurate technical files, specifications and product records.
• Liaise with design, buying and production teams to ensure clear communication.
• Review sample quality, construction and workmanship, escalating issues as needed.
• Communicate fit, construction and quality feedback to suppliers.
• Support garment testing, care‑label approvals and compliance documentation.
• Track samples and approvals to meet critical‑path deadlines.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of fit consistency and technical standards.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a Junior Garment Tech or Technical Assistant role within womenswear.
• Qualification in Clothing Technology, Fashion or related field (desirable).
• Strong understanding of garment construction, fabrics and fit.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with PLM or product management systems (advantageous).
• Ability to accurately measure garments and interpret technical specifications.
