Assistant Merchandiser (Retail Fashion)

About the role

We are seeking an Assistant Merchandiser to support our client, an established ladies multi‑channel fashion retailer in the West Midlands. You will work closely with the buying and merchandising teams to help maximise sales, maintain optimal stock levels and ensure the right products reach customers.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a sub‑category product area, handling trading and planning activities.
• Collaborate with the Buying team to control the critical path and product flow.
• Maintain strong relationships with internal and external suppliers.
• Analyse sales and stock data to identify opportunities and threats.
• Maximise availability of core product lines.
• Prepare materials for meetings and presentations for the Merchandiser.
• Provide support and direction to the Merchandise Assistant.
• Deputise for the Merchandiser when required.

Required profile

• Previous merchandising experience.
• IT literate with confidence using Excel formulae.
• Team player with excellent communication skills.
• Numerical, methodical approach and strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work well under pressure.
