Assistant Underwriter – US Casualty

About the role

Join a long‑established Lloyd’s syndicate as an Assistant Underwriter within the US Casualty division. Working closely with the Head of Casualty, you will gain hands‑on underwriting experience and a clear pathway toward becoming a fully qualified underwriter.

Key responsibilities

• Support day‑to‑day underwriting activities for US casualty business.
• Prepare and analyse reports, pricing models, and risk assessments.
• Liaise with US clients and internal teams to ensure accurate policy documentation.
• Assist in the development of underwriting strategies and portfolio monitoring.

Required profile

• Approximately 3 years of London market experience in casualty underwriting.
• Demonstrated numerical ability and comfort with data analysis.
• Experience interacting with US clients or handling US‑focused insurance business.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency, including complex formulas and reporting.
