Associate Director – Environmental Consultant

About the role

This senior position offers the opportunity to lead environmental consultancy services for major infrastructure and development projects. You will work within a large, multidisciplinary practice, collaborating with technical specialists and senior stakeholders to deliver high‑quality outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead coordination and delivery of environmental consultancy services, including Environmental Impact Assessments, environmental management and options appraisals.
• Line‑manage and mentor a team of environmental professionals, fostering high standards across multidisciplinary projects.
• Produce clear, high‑quality technical reports and review outputs from colleagues to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Maintain and develop client relationships, supporting bid preparation and business development activities.
• Ensure delivery within agreed timeframes and budgets while adhering to professional CPD requirements.

Required profile

• Degree or Master’s in environmental science or a related discipline.
• Chartered professional status (or progressing towards chartership).
• Significant consultancy experience at senior level on major infrastructure projects, preferably within EIA.
• Proven leadership experience managing multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills with strong organisational ability.
