Audit Assistant Manager – £47k-£55k (Hybrid)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced auditor to join a top‑10 accountancy firm in Liverpool as an Audit Assistant Manager. The role offers a competitive salary of £47,000‑£55,000, hybrid working and clear progression within a supportive, people‑focused environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a varied portfolio of audit assignments from planning through to completion.
• Lead fieldwork, oversee audit delivery and ensure quality and deadlines are met.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships throughout the audit process.
• Review audit work performed by junior team members and provide coaching.
• Support managers and partners on larger, more complex engagements.
• Assess risk areas, review systems and controls and ensure compliance with UK GAAP, IFRS and other audit standards.
• Contribute to the development of junior talent and support business‑development initiatives.

Required profile

• ACA or ACCA qualified (or overseas equivalent).
• Previous experience in an audit environment within an accountancy practice.
• Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP, IFRS and audit standards.
• Experience supervising, mentoring or reviewing junior staff.
• Confident communicator with excellent organisational skills.
• Ambitious and motivated to progress within a leading professional services firm.
