Audit Semi Senior – Chartered Accountancy Practice

A well‑established independent chartered accountancy practice in Uckfield is seeking an Audit Semi Senior to join its growing team. The role offers increasing responsibility, exposure to a varied client portfolio and strong opportunities for career development in a supportive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in planning and executing statutory audits for a diverse portfolio of SMEs and owner‑managed businesses.
• Carry out audit fieldwork, including testing of controls and substantive testing across key financial areas.
• Prepare clear, well‑structured audit working papers in line with firm and regulatory standards.
• Take responsibility for specific sections of audits, increasing ownership as experience develops.
• Identify audit issues and communicate findings to senior team members.
• Assist with the preparation of statutory accounts in accordance with UK GAAP.
• Support the completion of audit assignments, resolve queries and finalise files.
• Build effective working relationships with clients and act as a point of contact during engagements.
• Support and guide junior team members where appropriate.

Required profile

• Minimum 12 months audit experience and currently studying towards ACCA or ACA.
• Practical audit and accounts experience within an accountancy practice, preferably with non‑profit companies or charities.
• Knowledge of various software packages.
• Strong communication and team‑working abilities.
• Direct client contact experience is desirable.
