Audit Senior – Independent Accountancy Practice

About the role

Butler Rose, an established independent accountancy practice, is seeking an Audit Senior to join its growing audit team in Hoddesdon. You will manage a varied client portfolio, working closely with managers and directors to deliver high‑quality external audit assignments while also supporting accounts work.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver external audit assignments for a diverse range of clients.
• Assist managers and directors with audit planning and completion.
• Conduct audit fieldwork on‑site and remotely as appropriate.
• Prepare accounts work, contributing to an 80% audit / 20% accounts workload.
• Attend client meetings and build strong professional relationships.
• Review junior team members’ work and provide constructive feedback.
• Support the training and development of junior audit staff.
• Ensure assignments are completed accurately and within agreed deadlines.

Required profile

• Previous experience in an audit‑focused role within an accountancy practice.
• Studying towards or qualified ACA or ACCA (qualified candidates are welcome).
• Strong technical audit knowledge and attention to detail.
• Confident communicator with clients and colleagues at all levels.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Willingness to travel to client premises as required.
