Azure DevOps Engineer – Remote (IR35)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Azure DevOps Engineer to support a central government client’s Azure Data Platform team. The role is contract (inside IR35) and primarily remote, with one day per month on‑site in either Newcastle or Leeds.

Key responsibilities

• Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines and DevOps toolchains.
• Build and automate Azure‑based infrastructure and platform services.
• Support Azure Data Platform services across multiple environments.
• Develop Infrastructure as Code and Configuration as Code solutions using Terraform.
• Provision environments and resolve operational issues.
• Drive engineering best practices, automation and platform improvements.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience with Azure Data Platform components such as Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics and Data Lake (minimum SFIA Level 4).
• Strong background in developing and supporting Azure cloud‑based platforms and applications.
• Proven ability to work independently on complex technical issues and mentor engineering teams.
