About the role

NHS Borders is seeking a Band 6 Community Mental Health Nurse to join its Adult Community Mental Health Service in the Scottish Borders. The role supports adults experiencing mental health conditions within the community, delivering person‑centred, goal‑orientated, recovery‑focused and strength‑based care. Successful candidates will demonstrate strong leadership and clinical skills, with a sound knowledge of current practice and, ideally, experience in community mental health. The service operates Monday to Friday, 9 am–5 pm, and offers the lifestyle of rural Scotland while providing easy access to major cities such as Edinburgh, Glasgow and Newcastle. The position aligns with NHS values of compassion, kindness, integrity, teamwork and excellence, and provides an opportunity to contribute to the transformation programme that is shaping how mental health services are delivered locally.
