Business Account Manager – Financial Services

About the role

Hays is recruiting a Business Account Manager for an established financial services organisation in Manchester. The role focuses on driving growth through strategic partnerships and new business opportunities within a highly regulated environment.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, develop and secure new business opportunities and strategic partnerships.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity and emerging opportunities.
• Contribute to the design and execution of business development strategies and sales plans.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, partners and external organisations.
• Deliver presentations and proposals to prospective and existing customers.
• Support lending and commercial objectives while ensuring positive customer outcomes.
• Handle customer queries, concerns and complaints as the first point of contact.
• Develop and implement business plans to meet performance targets and KPIs.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including AML and conflict‑of‑interest policies.
• Complete control and compliance activities accurately and on time.

Required profile

• Proven experience in business development, relationship management or a similar commercial role.
• Track record of meeting and exceeding customer and business objectives.
• Experience delivering professional presentations to customers and stakeholders.
• Excellent relationship‑building and networking abilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Effective time management and ability to adapt to changing priorities.
