Business Development Manager

About the role

We are seeking a driven Business Development Manager to join a fast‑growing company in Birmingham. The role is focused on winning new business, building lasting client relationships and contributing directly to the organisation’s growth.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, target and pursue new business opportunities through outbound prospecting, networking, referrals and inbound lead management.
• Manage the full sales cycle end‑to‑end – from initial contact and needs assessment through proposal, negotiation and close.
• Maintain a strong, well‑qualified pipeline and keep CRM records accurate and up to date.
• Develop a deep understanding of the company’s products and services and articulate the value proposition to diverse audiences.
• Build long‑term relationships with key decision‑makers and stakeholders at target organisations.
• Collaborate with marketing, product and operations teams to ensure a seamless client experience.
• Represent the business at industry events, conferences and networking opportunities.
• Report pipeline activity, revenue forecasts and new‑business performance to senior leadership.

Required profile

• Proven track record in a Business Development or Sales Manager role with demonstrable new‑business results.
• Experience managing a full B2B sales cycle and closing deals at senior level.
• Strong commercial acumen and ability to quickly understand client needs.
• Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills, confident with senior decision‑makers.
• Self‑motivated, target‑driven and resilient.
