Buyer – Special Projects (Hybrid)

About the role

The Buyer – Special Projects will support key procurement initiatives for a FTSE100 retail supplier based in Greater Manchester. Working in a hybrid model, you will collaborate with category leads, finance, and project teams to drive sourcing, tendering and sustainability projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead product matching and bid activity for tender submissions, leveraging deep product knowledge.
• Support data‑driven procurement activities and contribute to the company’s data strategy.
• Collaborate with the Sustainability team to roll out ethical sourcing initiatives.
• Manage strategic sourcing projects across bespoke and commodity lines, delivering cost savings and innovation.
• Negotiate supplier pricing, conduct range reviews and drive value‑engineering opportunities.
• Maintain supplier relationships, ensuring continuity of supply and robust supply‑chain performance.

Required profile

• Broad sourcing experience with a strong understanding of product categories.
• Proven ability to work cross‑functionally with category managers, finance and project teams.
• Experience in bid management, tender processes and supplier negotiation.
• Commitment to sustainability and ethical sourcing practices.
