Civil Litigation Solicitor (NQ‑2) – Education & Public Law

About the role

We are seeking a Civil Litigation Solicitor (NQ‑2) to join a specialist law firm in Manchester. You will work on complex education and public‑law disputes, managing your own caseload from initial advice through to tribunal and court hearings.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of SEND Tribunal claims and public‑law matters.
• Provide advice and representation to clients throughout tribunal and court proceedings.
• Prepare and draft legal documentation, pleadings and statements of case.
• Instruct counsel where required and undertake advocacy on behalf of clients.
• Collaborate closely with senior lawyers and contribute to the development of the department.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor with NQ‑2 PQE.
• Experience of contentious legal work gained during a training contract or post‑qualification.
• Exposure to civil litigation, education law, public law or tribunal practice is advantageous.
• Strong drafting, client‑care and organisational abilities.
• Genuine interest in developing expertise in education and public‑law litigation.
