Client Accountant

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Client Accountant to join the Finance Team of our client’s Homes Division in London. The role will support the financial management of a diverse residential property portfolio, handling the full‑service charge demand cycle, year‑end accounts and client bank reconciliations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full demand process – issue budget templates, upload budgets to the property management system and send demands on schedule.
• Prepare and submit service‑charge year‑end accounts, including accruals, pre‑payments, void calculations and liaise with independent accountants.
• Distribute year‑end accounts to leaseholders within six months of year‑end or issue Section 20B notices where required.
• Conduct monthly expenditure reviews and corrections in partnership with property managers.
• Support rent review processes for various rental schemes.
• Ensure all client bank accounts are fully reconciled within two weeks of statement dates.
• Provide required financial reports for VAT and other statutory deadlines.

Required profile

• Accounting degree with part‑qualification or active study towards a professional accounting qualification.
• Proven experience in end‑to‑end service‑charge accounting, budgeting and statutory reporting.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet tight financial reporting deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills for interaction with clients, auditors and internal teams.

Required skills

• MRI Qube (or a comparable property management system).
