Clinical Negligence Solicitor – Birmingham (Hybrid)

About the role

Oculus Legal Group is seeking an ambitious Clinical Negligence Solicitor to join its Birmingham team. You will work on high‑value, complex claimant cases, providing expert legal advice and managing claims from inception to resolution.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a varied caseload of clinical negligence claims, including delayed diagnosis, surgical errors, birth injuries, GP and hospital negligence, and fatal claims.
• Draft legal documents, witness statements and correspondence.
• Instruct medical experts and counsel, and coordinate their input.
• Advise clients with empathy and professionalism throughout the litigation process.
• Support business development and networking initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with SRA regulations and firm procedures.

Required profile

• Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales.
• 0‑8+ years PQE in clinical negligence.
• Strong technical and analytical abilities.
• Excellent client care and communication skills.
• Proven ability to manage files independently and meet deadlines.
• Experience in a reputable regional or national law firm is preferred.
