Clinical Nurse Advisor – TPN Specialist

About the role

We are looking for an experienced and compassionate Clinical Nurse Advisor to join our specialist outpatient home‑care service on the Isle of Wight. In this bank position you will support patients receiving Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN) in their own homes, providing high‑quality clinical care, education and ongoing follow‑up.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver clinical care in line with Service Operating Procedures, including therapy initiation, follow‑up visits and assessments.
• Provide structured education and continuous support to patients, families and carers using TPN.
• Visit patients in their homes or approved community settings, promoting confidence and independence.
• Maintain and manage all clinical equipment and materials required for TPN therapy.
• Collaborate with dietitians, nutrition nurses, pharmacists and other multidisciplinary team members to ensure seamless outpatient pathways.
• Monitor, record and escalate adverse events according to policy and complete all clinical documentation and activity reporting.
• Uphold quality, safety and governance standards, including safeguarding, pharmacovigilance and health‑and‑safety requirements.
• Maintain professional registration, complete mandatory training and engage in CPD for NMC/NMBI revalidation.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse with a current NMC or NMBI registration.
• Minimum of 1 year post‑registration nursing experience.
• Experience or interest in delivering home‑based care and patient education.
• Ability to work autonomously and manage a flexible bank schedule.
