Clinical Research Nurse – Lung Cancer

About the role

The Christie is seeking a Clinical Research Nurse to join its expanding Lung Cancer research team. This permanent, full‑time position involves supporting a diverse portfolio of academic and commercial clinical trials, ensuring high‑quality patient care and research delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and manage the complex needs of patients enrolled in lung‑cancer clinical trials.
• Coordinate patient pathways, from feasibility review through trial activation, recruitment, and ongoing management.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, trial coordinators, and investigators to deliver protocol‑specified treatments.
• Resolve data queries, review protocol amendments, and ensure compliance with ICH/GCP standards and Trust SOPs.
• Audit patient experience using national frameworks to optimise trial participation.
• Promote clinical research within the Trust and represent the team at local, national, and international meetings.

Required profile

• Background in oncology nursing with flexibility to adapt to changing trial demands.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for difficult clinical conversations.
• Experience in clinical research or oncology is desirable.
• Commitment to patient safety, wellbeing, and regulatory compliance.
