Clinician / Optometrist (IR35 Contractor) – Southampton

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Clinician/Optometrist to join our Vision Centre in Southampton on a part‑time, contractor basis. You will lead contact‑lens appointments for CooperVision employees, ensuring clinical excellence while supporting the promotion of the company’s lens programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct contact‑lens fitting, teaching and after‑care appointments with clear communication.
• Validate prescriptions and coordinate lens supply across the UK in partnership with the Events Manager.
• Act as a contact‑lens ambassador, answering employee queries and educating colleagues on the latest innovations.
• Demonstrate clinical equipment to visiting customers and provide technical support.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of contact‑lens fitting techniques, clinical practice and market trends.

Required profile

• Qualified Optometrist or Contact Lens Optician (CLO) with a minimum of 3 years of practice.
• Significant experience in contact‑lens fitting, preferably with advanced lenses.
• Proven ability to manage an independent clinical diary and work autonomously.
• Experience in clinical education or product demonstration is desirable.
