Commercial Insurance Solicitor – Retraining Opportunity

About the role

An established national law firm is seeking a qualified solicitor to join its insurance team in Birmingham. The position offers a structured retraining pathway from general litigation to specialist property insurance dispute work, allowing you to build expertise while continuing to develop high‑level advocacy skills.

Key responsibilities

• Assist senior insurance litigators on complex property damage and coverage disputes.
• Manage case files, conduct legal research, and prepare pleadings and statements of case.
• Participate in client meetings and provide updates on litigation strategy.
• Develop a deep understanding of insurance policy wording and relevant case law.
• Contribute to team knowledge‑sharing and training sessions.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor (NQ level or above) with solid litigation experience.
• Background in commercial litigation, professional negligence, property litigation, personal injury, or civil litigation.
• Strong case‑management and dispute‑resolution abilities.
• Excellent communication and client‑facing skills.
• Commercially aware, proactive, and committed to professional development.
