Communications Officer – Transformation

About the role

Arts Council England is undergoing a period of real change and needs a creative, organised communicator to help bring people along on the journey. You will join a growing, energetic team that values fresh thinking, learning and delivering meaningful support for colleagues and the wider creativity and culture sector.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver communications content and campaigns that support the transformation agenda.
• Consider reputation management and strategic planning in all communications activities.
• Craft messages that are accessible and inclusive for diverse audiences.
• Provide editorial oversight and ensure high‑quality writing across outputs.

Required profile

• Passionate about inclusive storytelling and engaging diverse communities.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to work collaboratively in a hybrid environment.
• Creative mindset with a willingness to experiment and learn.

Required skills

• Strong writing and editorial judgement.
• Experience in reputation management and strategic communications planning.

What we offer

• Fixed‑term contract until 30 June 2028 (35 hours per week).
• Salary £33,643 per annum (Grade D) with pension and generous annual leave.
• Hybrid working model – 1‑2 days onsite in Manchester, remote flexibility otherwise.
