Complex Employers' Liability & Public Liability Solicitor (2+ PQE)

About the role

Our client, a nationally‑recognised law firm in Manchester, is seeking a Complex Employers’ Liability and Public Liability Solicitor with at least two years post‑qualification experience. The role involves managing high‑value casualty claims for insurer, corporate and public‑sector clients, offering exposure to sophisticated litigation and clear progression pathways.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of complex EL/PL claims from instruction through to resolution.
• Investigate liability, causation and quantum issues and prepare detailed legal advice.
• Draft pleadings, applications, witness statements and settlement documentation.
• Liaise with counsel, experts, insurers and insured clients.
• Negotiate settlements and attend court hearings where appropriate.
• Mentor junior team members and support business development activities.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor with a minimum of 2 years PQE.
• Experience handling defendant EL/PL claims, preferably in the insurance sector.
• Strong analytical, organisational and communication abilities.
• Client‑focused and commercially minded approach.
