Compliance Analyst – Legal AML & KYC Specialist

About the role

This position supports a leading national law firm’s compliance function, focusing on legal conflicts, AML, CDD and KYC processes. You will work closely with lawyers and stakeholders to ensure regulatory standards are met while providing practical guidance.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct conflict of interest checks using specialist software and liaise with fee earners to reach compliant decisions.
• Review and assess Client Due Diligence (CDD) and Know Your Client (KYC) documentation.
• Ensure compliance with AML regulations, SRA requirements and internal policies.
• Perform company, sanctions and verification searches across multiple compliance databases.
• Analyse beneficial ownership structures and advise on complex CDD requirements.
• Undertake Source of Funds (SOF) and Source of Wealth (SOW) reviews as needed.
• Support ongoing AML reviews for existing clients.
• Collaborate with lawyers and business units to provide practical compliance guidance and maintain high onboarding standards.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a law‑firm compliance, AML, risk or business acceptance team.
• At least 12 months of experience conducting legal conflict checks.
• Proven ability to review CDD, KYC and AML documentation.
• Strong analytical, research, attention‑to‑detail and organisational skills.
• Confident communication with stakeholders at all levels.
• Experience with legal compliance systems such as Intapp Conflicts is advantageous.
