Construction Solicitor (Non-Contentious) – 5+ PQE

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Construction Solicitor to join the Construction & Engineering team of a top‑50 UK law firm in Birmingham. The role focuses on non‑contentious matters across major development, infrastructure and real‑estate projects.

Key responsibilities

• Provide commercial, non‑contentious advice on large‑scale construction, regeneration and infrastructure schemes.
• Draft and negotiate standard form contracts (JCT, NEC) and related project documentation such as development agreements and property finance documents.
• Support corporate transactions, real‑estate deals and process‑plant contracts throughout the project lifecycle.
• Collaborate with a national team of lawyers and mentor junior colleagues.
• Optionally assist with contentious work where appropriate.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years post‑qualification experience (PQE) in non‑contentious construction law.
• Strong commercial awareness and client‑relationship skills.
• Experience in both private practice and in‑house environments is welcomed.

Required skills

• Proficiency with JCT construction contracts.
• Proficiency with NEC construction contracts.
• Drafting and negotiating construction documentation.
• Advising on development agreements.
