Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon – Soft Tissue Knee Specialist

About the role

This full‑time Consultant position in Trauma & Orthopaedics focuses on soft‑tissue knee surgery. You will join a dynamic team of 21 consultants, providing comprehensive trauma and orthopaedic care for a population of around 500,000.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in the on‑call trauma rota across the RUH and Sulis Orthopaedic Centre.
• Deliver high‑quality orthopaedic services, including soft‑tissue knee procedures.
• Engage in audit, directorate meetings and required administrative duties.
• Maintain professional expertise through attendance at meetings, courses and CME diary completion.
• Contribute to the department’s postgraduate teaching and research programmes.

Required profile

• Qualified Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon or post‑CCT trainee with a special interest in soft‑tissue knee.
• Commitment to continuous professional development and research.
• Willingness to participate in teaching activities for junior and career‑grade staff.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
