Costs Lawyer – Commercial Litigation & Personal Injury

About the role
The Costs Lawyer will join a busy Birmingham team that handles complex commercial litigation and high‑value personal injury claims. You will work across the full lifecycle of costs matters, supporting both defendant and claimant sides.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare costs budgets and bills of costs
- Draft Points of Dispute and Replies
- Negotiate settlements and prepare Schedules of Costs
- Manage and progress your own caseload
- Support advocacy‑related work and attend hearings when required
Required profile
- Qualified Costs Lawyer or a candidate with substantial costs drafting experience
- Experience with both defendant and claimant costs work is preferred
- Ability to handle a busy caseload efficiently
- Confident communication with clients and colleagues
- Team‑oriented and collaborative mindset
